Obituary for Lois M Jenks (Rockafellow)

Lois Jenks, age 94 of Sheridan passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her home.

She was born on February 26, 1921 the daughter of George & Cora (Marcy) Rockafellow in Sumner. On August 1, 1942, Lois was married to Stanley Jenks and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and one sister, Louise Jorgensen.

Lois is survived by her seven sons; Allen & Linda Jenks, Arlen Jenks, Kevin & Nancy Jenks all of Sheridan, Gayle & Jo Jenks of Stanton, Dean & Pat Jenks of Del Valle, Texas, Greg & Louise Jenks of Chesapeake, Virginia, Pastor Daniel & Susan Jenks of Des Moine, Iowa; twenty two grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Nestle of Sheridan, Nila & Charles Johnson of Tempe, Arizona; two brothers, Gerald Rockafellow of Ionia and Jim & Ellen Rockafellow of Fenwick.

Lois was a member of the Fenwick United Methodist Church and Sheridan VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation with Lois’s family will be on Sunday, March 15th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16th beginning at 11 AM, with Pastor Larry Nalett officiating. Final interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

For those desiring to make a memorial donation in Lois’s memory the family has suggested donations be made to either the Fenwick Methodist Church or Sheridan VFW and there will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
