Lois J. Christiansen, age 91, of Stanton, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the Laurels of Carson City.
Surviving Lois is her daughter, Carlene (Carl) Smith of Stanton; grandson, Andrew (Becky) Smith of DeWitt; granddaughter, Jennifer Berg of South Lyon; great grandchildren, Alexander Berg, Gabrielle Berg, Tyler Berg, Zachary Berg, Addison Smith, Harper Smith; brother, Gary (Norma) Williams of Ionia; sisters-in-law, Joan Williams of Grand Rapids, Joanne Erridge of Stanton, Phyllis Black of Amble; brother-in-law, Arthur Ritter of Greenville and her beloved dog Ebony.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Archie & Agnes (Hallock) Williams; husband, Eldon Christiansen; sisters, Reva Adams, Betty Phipps, Helen Newberg, Janice Wolfe; brothers, Raymond Williams, Ronald Williams; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Lentz, Mildred Peterson, Marian Ritter, Lucille Johnson, Marjorie Staines; brothers-in-law, Homer Christiansen, Edward Christiansen; special friend and ex-sister-in-law, Joyce Hendrickson.
Lois worked at Federal Mogul in Greenville for 41 years, she also helped her husband, Eldon, with the family farm for 32 years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, and traveling. Lois was a very competitive person who loved playing games and thoroughly enjoyed besting her family in games like Pedro, Railroad, Rum, and Yatzee, whenever they played. Lois was also well known for her homemade maple ice cream, which was a treat enjoyed by everyone.
There will be a celebration of Lois’s life on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 3 to 5 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.). Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows. Lois will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
For those wanting to remember Lois with a memorial donation, the family suggest you direct them to the Laurels of Carson City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home on Saturday.
