Linda Raymond

Linda Raymond, age 68 of Stanton, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.

Linda was a person who would give you the last nickel in her pocket or go without herself, if someone needed something. A kind and giving woman, Linda always had an open-door policy for her family and friends. She was very independent and enjoyed the fact she could do things for herself. Linda enjoyed fishing, growing things in her garden, and liked singing and playing the organ. She was also a gifted and talented poetry writer. But most importantly Linda was a wonderful mom and an awesome grandma; she loved spending time with her family and will be deeply missed by everyone.

Surviving Linda are her daughters, Tina (Tim) Sleight of Stanton; Trica (Bobby) Arnold of Stanton and Kimberly Gibbons of Ionia; sons, Rex (LaDeana) Taylor of Stanton and Kenny Jr. (Kelly) Raymond of Stanton; her loving ex-husband; Kenny Raymond Sr.; 28 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Vandyk and Alicia Foster; brothers, Phil Thompson; Jeff Jeanette; Edward Thompson; George Jeanette and Matthew Thompson.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Maynard & Shirley (Carlisle) Thompson; stepfather, Thomas Jeanette; grandson, Nikki Taylor; granddaughter, Meagan Raymond and brothers, David Jeanette; Sonny Jeanette; Tommy Thompson; Mark Thompson.

A celebration of Linda’s life is being held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 12 Noon to 2 PM, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street). There will be a formal time of sharing memories and a reading of some of Linda’s poetry which will begin at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM at Hillside Cemetery in Entrican.
