Lewis E. Wells, age 84, of Stanton, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice.
Louie was a devoted husband for 62 years and a loving father. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 27 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He founded Wells Machine Products which he owned and operated for 20 years. Louie had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying, he loved to garden, go fishing and hunting, fixing, fabricating, and inventing things, farming, staying up on current events, camping, and going to Florida in the winter.
Surviving Louie is his wife, Annie Wells; daughters, Ute (Bill) Albert, Karen (Lanny) Scoby; son, Daniel L. Wells; grandchildren, Chad (Stacey) Wells, Landon Scoby, Steven (Rachel) Scoby, Caissie (Nate) Austin, Shane Albert; several great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann Quick; and many nieces and nephews.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Edson & Eathel (Pocock) Wells; son, Ernest Wells; sister, Donna Ohning; and brother, Donald Claflin.
Louie’s life is being celebrated on Monday, October 18th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) with visitation from 10 to 11 AM and funeral services beginning at 11 AM. Final interment will be at the Richland Township Cemetery in Vestaburg.
