Letha M. Chapin, age 86, of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her home. She was born on July 8, 1926 in Stanton, the daughter of Harry & Luanna (Bauman) Hallock.
On January 26, 1942, Letha was married to Dale W. Chapin in Stanton. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2011. Also preceding her were 2 brothers, Amos & Dewey Hallock.
Surviving are her children, Dianne J. Weger, Roger & Georganna Chapin and Dennis & Kari Ann Chapin, all of Stanton plus 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, one brother, Harry & Marie Hallock of Selingsgrove, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Letha has been a lifelong resident of the Stanton area and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stanton. A country girl at heart, Letha loved horses and the outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all of them.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church, Stanton with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating.
Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday, beginning at 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service.
Following cremation, final interment will be at the McBride Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial considerations to Spectrum Health Hospice. There will be envelopes available at the church on Saturday.
