Lawrence Edward Jensen, age 87, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Larry was an active member of his community and was involved in the River Isle Golf Association. Previously, he was the president of the Michigan Potato Association and had been nominated twice as Potato Grower of the Year. Lawrence also helped to design the Faith Lutheran Church on Sidney Road, with drawing and blueprints, and worked closely with the architect/builders and church. Every opportunity he had, he loved to play golf. Larry was very social and was loved by his community, family, and friends.
Surviving Lawrence are his daughters: Nancy Jensen Venneman of Bradenton, FL, and Barbara Jensen Smith (Ernest) of Cincinnati, OH; sons: Rex (Fran) Jensen of Bradenton, FL, and Gary (Sally) Jensen of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Roger Jensen of Ionia, MI; grandchildren: Michael Jensen of Bradenton, FL, Sarah (Gary) Jensen of Minneapolis, MN, Alexandra Jensen of Pierson, MI, Ryan Jensen of Bradenton, FL, Eric (Sarah) Telfor of Pittsburgh, PA, Kendra (Kevin) Jensen Battig of Greenville, MI, Joe (Corina) Larger of Greenville, MI, Lars (Bethanie) Jensen of Saranac, MI, Cale (Aurora) Jensen of Howard City, MI, Lindsay Jensen of Grand Rapids, MI, and Jason (Dana) Porter of Belmont, MI; great grandchildren: Serena, Athena, Wyatt, Jaxon, Mason, Emmalee, Elizabeth, Ellisyn, Brooklyn, Zoey, Magnus, Hazel, Leo, Avery, Rainer, Lawrence, and Waylon; and sister: Ethel Jensen Cope of Bradenton, FL.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Harper Jensen; parents Orville & Bessie Jensen; brother Oren Jensen; and granddaughter Tressa Porter.
A memorial service for Lawrence will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church in Sidney, beginning at 11 AM. Lawrence’s family will be greeting people from 10 AM to 11 AM.
