Lawrence Chipman, age 90 of Fenwick, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, Florida.
Lawrence was someone who loved being outdoors both at work and in his free time. During his career, he enjoyed working as an excavator. When he wasn’t working, Lawrence loved maintaining his lawn with his zero-turn mower, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ionia, a member of the Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Operator’s Union. Lawrence enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending time on his computer.
Surviving Lawrence is his wife of 69 years, Barbara; daughters, Dixie Miller of Palo; Diane (Rick) Edwards of Fenwick; daughter-in-law, Kathie (Dick) Chipman-Ziegler of Hastings; grandchildren, Scott (Martha) Chipman of Hastings; Melissa Chipman of Kalamazoo; Tina (Phil) Palmer of Greenville; Tim (Jessica) Miller of Fenwick; Tonya (Eric) Edwards of Fenwick; Travis (Genny) Miller of Portland; Christy (Jose) Guzman of Alto; Brandy (Bill) Sain of Fenwick; Rick (Alycia) Edwards of Sheridan; Katie Edwards of Ionia; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Margie Fishell of Fenwick; brothers, Jack (Carol) Chipman of Saranac; James (Carolyn) Chipman of Paris; sisters-in-law, Camilla Hogan of Hubbardston; RoseAnn Treusdell of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Larry Cobb and Bill Daily.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, James & Ruth (Fuller) Chipman; son, Keith Chipman; son-in-law, Monty Miller; brothers-in-law, Pat Fishell; Herbert Trusdell; Leonard Riley and Mike Hogan.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Executive Orders by the Governor, private family only graveside services were held at Palo Cemetery.
