Kenneth D. Hancock, age 75, of Stanton, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 21, 2022, under the loving care of his family and Kindred Hospice.
Ken loved watching the Detroit Tigers, trout fishing at the Cannon Creek, reading his Louis L’Amour books, traveling with his wife to Florida, listening to and singing along to old country music, hunting for deer, pheasants, rabbits, and squirrels. After working for Oldsmobile and General Motors for 30 years Ken retired and began his second career of driving cars for Bookwalter Chevrolet. But above all else, Ken loved his family and spending time with them all, especially his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Surviving Ken is his wife, Kathy; daughters, Cindy (Andrew) Frost and Dana (Dustin) Andersen; sons, Phillip (Jennipher) Gibbons, Tracy Gibbons, Jody (Angel) Gibbons, Christopher Hancock (Danielle Zalesak), and Marty (Lisa) Hancock. Grandchildren, Bill (Sam) Crawford, Kyle (Jackie) Andersen, Amber (Tommy) Beach, Cody (Tara) Crawford, Ryan (Katie) Elvert, Becky (Mitchell) Camp, Felicia (Andy) Braman, Jody Gibbons (Holly Moore), Bailey (Brad) Zuidewind, Caden Gibbons, Kamron Gibbons, Travis Swainston, Candice (Steve) Sager, Lyndsey (Tanner) Alexander, Bethany (Wes) Rasmussen, Jessa Andersen, Jacob Andersen, and Abbi (Mat) Hill; many great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Godfrey and Bonnie (A.J.) Blonk; brothers, Jim Hancock and Robert (Diana) Hancock; his best friends, John Bookwalter, and Bill & Sherry Farrington; and his beloved dog, Millie.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Derial & Hazel (Smith) Hancock; daughter, Shelly Hancock; brother, Butch Hancock; and his dog, “Sugar”
Ken’s life is being celebrated on Wednesday, May 25th, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.) from 1 to 3 PM where you are free to come and go as your schedule permits.
