Karen Lynn Engel, age 83, of Stanton, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded in love by her family.
Karen retired from Central Montcalm Public School in 1994 after 35 years of service. She then started a second career working at Leppinks Food Center in Stanton where she enjoyed seeing and talking with everyone who came in. Karen served on the Board of the Montcalm Public Employees Credit Union for many years, she also loved to read, feed her birds, garden, and Notre Dame Football. She cared for and loved everyone, was always willing to help out friends and family, and will be dearly missed by everyone.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Karline Engel of Stanton and Rexanne (Rod) Waldron of Greenville; grandchildren, Jason (Han) Fishell of Middleville, Jason (Amber) Adams of Sheridan, Lyndi Fishell of Stanton, Damian (Natalie) Adams of Greenville, Kasie (Caleb) Smith of Clinton Township; great grandchildren, Jamison Dock, Xarius Dock, Kayde Johnson, Tristin Hissong, Aeris Adams, Rex Fishell, Mia Fishell, Frank Fishell, Gracelyn Adams, Lana Adams, Isabelle Adams, Adriana Cook, Blade Smith, and Marcus Smith; sister, Karmen Hayes of Clearwater, Florida; brothers, Benjamin Franklin of Galveston, Indiana; brother-in-law, Larry (Laura) Engel of Stanton; her special friend, Harold Frost of Crystal; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Judge Benjamin & Lucille Franklin and her sister, Benille Applegreen.
Karen's life is being celebrated with a memorial service beginning at 11 AM on Monday, March 6th, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St).
