June E. Abbott, age 90, of downtown Six Lakes, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 3, 2011. She was born July 3, 1921, in Chicago, the daughter of Anthal & Elizabeth (Emery) Albaugh.
On December 15, 1945, she was married to Hobert D. Abbott in Detroit and he preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers and sisters.
Surviving is a daughter and her husband, Tandy & Marvin Holman of Lakeview, one granddaughter, Megan & Phil Lugo-Kapuza of Chicago, one grandson, Richard Lugo of Chicago, two great grandchildren, Richelle Neumann and Brandon Lugo plus one sister, Edwina Sikora of Andrews, North Carolina and a brother, Robert Albaugh of Lake Placid, Florida along with several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Abbott has been a longtime resident of Six Lakes. She retired from teaching after 42 years in the classroom and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Eagle Lodge and the Royal Oak Retirement Club.
Funeral services will be held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan on Sunday, November 6, 2011 beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Don Raush officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday two hours prior to the funeral service where friends and relatives can meet with the family from noon until 2:00 P.M.
Interment will be at the Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore.
The family has suggested for those desiring to do so, that memorial considerations can be made to the Tamarack District Library in Lakeview.
