Judy Blum, age 71, of Stanton, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, under the loving care of her family and Elara Hospice.
Judy was a person who loved caring for and helping others. Professionally she did this her entire life through her work as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Personally, she loved and cared for people by being an amazing and supportive wife, an awesome mom, the best grandma, and a great human being. Judy always was on the hunt for a good deal and loved going to garage sales. Her day never really started until she had some chocolate, M&M’s, and most importantly, a diet Coke. Judy was a very active member of the Stanton community and was the neighborhood mom and nurse to most of her kids’ friends growing up. The world was made better because of Judy and her passing will be felt by everyone who knew her.
Surviving Judy is her husband of 52 years, Ron; daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Burns of Stanton and Joylynn Blum of Macomb; son, James (Billie Jo) Blum of Stanton; grandchildren, Jordan, Brennan, Jairon, Anthony, William, Jacoby, Brody, Tanner, Carter, Charles, Clifford, Sarah, Jonathan, Samantha; brother, Ronald VanWagner of Stanton.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Mildred (Nummer) VanWagner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Frances Blum; sister, Nancy Adams; and sister-in-law, Carol VanHorn.
A celebration of Judy’s life is being held on Sunday, October 10th at the Sheridan VFW Post (209 Washington St.) from 1 to 4 PM. Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.
Memorial donations may be made directly to Judy’s family, and they will be determining the best way to use those donations to honor Judy and help the Stanton community in the near future.
