Judith A. O’Neal, age 81, of Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Byron Center Manor in Byron Center.
Judy loved everything about the outdoors. She enjoyed tending to all her perennial and annuals in her flower garden, going to various beaches, walking on trails, and going to different parks. Judy was a supporter and contributor to organizations which promoted things like animal protection, nature conservancy, veteran support services. She liked going to plays at the theater and watching movies. Judy enjoyed traveling and seeing different sites throughout the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Europe, and all over Michigan. Most of all, Judy loved spending time with her family, and she will be deeply missed by everyone.
Surviving Judy are her sons, John (Jennifer) O’Neal of Canton, Connecticut; Joe (Denise) O’Neal of Farmington Hills; Jay (Sara) O’Neal of Byron Center; grandchildren, Jake O’Neal of Fort Collins, Colorado; Mary O’Neal of Byron Center; Molly O’Neal of Byron Center; Patrick O’Neal of Canton, Connecticut and her sister, Mary (John) Ishmael of Brooksville, Florida.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Viola (Scheid) Richardson and her husband, John O’Neal.
Judy’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the First Congregational Church of Stanton (305 N. Camburn Street). Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1 PM. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Final interment will be at Roseland Park Cemetery in Royal Oak.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Judy’s memory the family suggests you direct them to either the First Congregational Church of Stanton or the Nature Conservancy Michigan Chapter. Envelopes will be available at the church on Tuesday.
