He lived and taught English in Taiwan and China and also lived at various times in Ireland, Alaska, California and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He also had the opportunity to travel extensively in Asia and India while living in Taipei, Taiwan. Josh was blessed to have made many wonderful friends throughout the world and kept in close contact with most of them.

Josh was a firm believer in liberties and human rights for all people. He was an environmentalist, an educator, and a philosopher. One could always count on Josh for a good conversation. He was also known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and patience and possessed a wonderful ability to put people at ease.

Josh’s love and commitment to his family had drawn him back to Michigan and he had just completed a successful first year of teaching public school as a third-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Sault Ste. Marie. He was excited to be offered a teaching position in the Greenville Public School system and was planning to begin at Baldwin Heights in the fall as a second-grade teacher.
