John Leonard Hooks, age 66, of Stanton, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
John or “Big John” as some knew him, loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid gun collector. John dearly loved his family, especially his grandkids and spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving John are his children; Leonard (Lee) Hooks of Tennessee, Amanda (Alex) Bowen of Stanton; Amy Jones of Florida, Wyatt McLeod of Stanton and Ruth Bryant of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Amani, AJ, Matthew, Katelyn and one great-grandchild, Violet.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Debra Hooks.
A Celebration of Life in John’s memory will be held at a later date.
