John Allen

John David Allen, age 21 of Six Lakes, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2017 due to complications from diabetes.

He is preceded in death by his dad, John R. Allen; great grandma, Pearl Woudwyk; grandma’s, Ruth Allen and Albertha Sagryn; grandpa’s, Carl Allen and Edward Sagryn and uncle, Floyd Battjes.

John is survived by his mom and stepfather, Deb & David Ackley of Six Lakes; sisters, Jennifer Allen of Gowen, Hope Allen of Edmore; aunts and uncles, J.D. & Mary Sagryn of Stanton, Bryan & Dawn Craigmyle of Stanton, Annette & Tim Buskirk of Edmore, Tammy Craigmyle of Kentucky, Joe & Darlynn Allen of Stanton, Bill & Dorothy Allen of Crystal, Bonnie Allen of Edmore, Carol Recker of Vestaburg; great aunt, Elsie Moore of Greenville; longtime family friend, Ron & Paula Estill of Six Lakes, many cousins and lots of nieces and nephews.

John loved to go hunting and salmon fishing and also enjoyed go-cart and dirt track racing. He was a very kind, caring and helpful person who would do anything for anyone. He was the dairy manager at Jorgi’s in Edmore. Most of all, John loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

John’s family will be celebrating his life on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 4-9 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Please feel free to come and go as your schedule allows.

Graveside services for John will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the McBride Cemetery beginning at 10 AM with Pastor Eugene Kooi officiating.
