Jerry Walker

Gerald A. “Jerry” Walker, age 68 of Fenwick, went home to heaven on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at home with his family at his side. He was born on January 21, 1946 in Ionia, the son of Emerson & Letha (Durbin) Walker.
On February 21, 1964, in Fenwick, Jerry was married to Betty Lou Chambers and they just celebrated fifty years of marriage. Betty survives in addition to their children, Andrew & Christine Walker, Fenwick, Sally Finkbeiner & Joe Bannen, Stanton, Jeri & Trennon May, Ionia, Dave & Jill Walker, Fenwick, his grandchildren, Stephanie & Jared Edwards, Ryan Walker, Melissa Finkbeiner, Seth Walker, Emily Walker, Ashlyn May, Corey & Erin Rolfe, Alicia Rolfe, his great grandchildren, Tyler Edwards and Claire Rolfe with two more on the way, 2 sisters, Janice & Duane Braman and Terri & Bryon King, both of Stanton, a brother, Bruce Walker, Fenwick, 2 step brothers, Dannon & Bonnie Ferguson, Fenwick, Gene Ferguson, Canada, nieces, nephews and brother & sister in laws.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, George Ferguson, 2 brothers, Robert and Thomas and 2 sisters, Cathy and an infant sister.
A lifelong resident of Fenwick, Jerry has been a farmer in addition to working at Gibson’s, driving bus at Central Montcalm Schools and he also hauled can milk for the Carnation Company in Sheridan.
A memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Brooks Sayer officiating. Following cremation, final interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery in Fenwick.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the Central Montcalm Public Schools football program. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
