Jerry J. Nichols, age 77 of Stanton, passed away peacefully at his home under the loving care of his family on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
A career military man, Jerry proudly served his country in the 180th Air National Guard Fighter Wing out of Toledo, Ohio. He was also a natural salesman who, given the chance, probably could have sold a bucket of sand to a thirsty man in the desert. He owned and operated J&B Antiques Mall where he loved to wheel and deal. He enjoyed going to auctions and was always on the lookout for his next treasure. Jerry had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his family and friends. He attended the First Congregational Church in Stanton. He was also a country boy at heart having grown up on a farm and liked being outdoors. Jerry loved his family and many friends and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Beverly; sons, Kenneth (Laura) Nichols of Blissfield; James (Michelle) Nichols of Stanton; Stephen (Tricia) Nichols of Mesa, Arizona; David (Jennie) Nichols of Rockford; sister, Janice Rogers of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Ben (Jen) Mainka of Brighton; Nathan (Mallory) Mainka of Grosse Pointe Park; Michael (Alyssa) Nichols of St. Petersburg, Florida; Isaiah Nichols of The Netherlands; Lynnsi Nichols of Mesa, Arizona; Madeline Nichols of Mesa, Arizona; Gabriel Nichols of Stanton; Samantha Nichols of Stanton; Mitchell Nichols of Stanton; Zachary Nichols of Rockford; Grace Nichols of Rockford; great grandchildren, Abigail, Alyssa, Ariana and Alexander Mainka; brother-in-law, Jack Rogers of Tempe, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
