Jeremy Fertig

Jeremy Fertig, age 43 of Three Oaks, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

While some people choose to follow the path of others, people like Jeremy blaze their own trail. He was a man who loved his wife and kids and doing things like going to the beach, their sporting events; camping trips and sitting by the campfires with them and if this didn’t sound like fun to anyone else, Jeremy didn’t care as Misty and the kids were his number 1 priority in life. Jeremy also loved his music, especially Insane Clown Posse. He was a talented woodworker, very good cook, and he never lost his inner child as he loved all things Batman.

Surviving Jeremy is his beloved wife, Misty (Krauss) Fertig of Three Oaks; mother, Cindi Fertig of Lake View, Iowa; grandmother, Nancy Fertig of Lake View, Iowa; daughters, Elizabeth Fertig of Norfolk, Nebraska; Gracie Jewell of Three Oaks; sons, Zachary Jewell of Three Oaks; Bryce Jewell of Three Oaks; sisters, Amber Strough of Lyons, Colorado; Lori Huffman of Iowa; LuAnn Kennebeck of Iowa; April Derra of Iowa; brothers, Norman Fertig of Stanton; CJ Derra of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Amber & Patrick Myers of Three Oaks and his life long best friends, John McBride of Greenville and Zachary McMeeken of Greenville.

Jeremy was preceded in death by grandpa, Jim Fertig; niece, Macayla Razes and his wife’s grandparents, Dick & Janet Seaver.

Jeremy’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Sidney Township Park from 11 AM to 3 PM where Kiril Alber, a close family friend, will officiate.
