Jennie Linebaugh

October 22, 1951 — April 27, 2019

Jennie Linebaugh, age 67 of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Hospice.

Jennie has many critical medical issues over the past 13 years, limiting her physical activities, but her spirit, love of life, and love of her family never changed. She bravely fought her health ailments each and every day. She loved her weekly Tuesday night Bingo trips, going to yard sales, and hanging out at “the office” a.k.a. Crossroads Restaurant. Her biggest joy was her large family. She attended every family function she could, baby showers, open houses, birthday parties, anniversaries, school events; if her family was going to be there or somehow be honored, you could always count on Jennie being there.

Before Jennie got sick, she loved to go to Barb and Gordy’s cabin in Barryton; watch her husband, Leo and his brothers at the tractor pulls (Go Minneapolis Moline!), watch her son-in-law, Marty race at Crystal Motor Speedway and watch her son, Chad and his dad at the drag strip. Spending time with her grandkids made her especially happy; it didn’t matter if it was Logan taking her places, Tyler taking her for speed rides in his Subaru, or just hanging out with any of them, Jennie absolutely loved and adored her grandkids. While Jennie had a vocabulary, that would make even the most seasoned sailor blush, she had the heart of a true mother and the soul of a great friend. Jennie considered everyone she knew as “family” and she treated them as such. Jennie will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Surviving Jennie is her husband, Leo Linebaugh of Greenville; daughter, Becky (Marty) Sowles of Stanton; sons, Kelly (Marcia) Linebaugh of Middleville and Chad Daggett of Greenville; grandchildren, Robert (Trish) Sowles of Greenville; Tyler Sowles, Logan Sowles, Jenika Sowles all of Stanton; Katelyn Linebaugh and Nathan Linebaugh both of Middleville and Jess Linebaugh of Wyoming; great grandchildren, Audrey, Skyler, Lauren, Olivia and Brookelynn; brother, Calvin (Nancy) Hansen of Sheridan; sisters-in-law, Shirley Downer of Greenville and Wanda Paulsen of Greenville; brothers-in-law, Bill Linebaugh of Greenville; Delbert (Karen) Linebaugh of Belding and Cary Dukes of Stanton; many niece and nephews whom Jennie treated just like they were her kids and too many friends to name, but whom held a special place in her heart.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, Myrle & Helen (Hall) Hansen; granddaughter, Elizabeth Linebaugh; sisters, Sharon Kent; Shirley Buskirk; Helen Dukes; Alice Plambeck and Leona Hansen; brothers, Butch Hansen; Alfred Hansen and Donald Hansen; sisters-in-law, Marylou Hansen and Julia Hansen and brother-in-law, Junior Kent.
