Jean M Copas (Peterman)

Jean M. Copas, age 69 of Sidney passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born the daughter of Philip & Rosemond Peterman on July 7, 1946 Jean has been preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Rose Copas and a brother, Philip Peterman.

Jean is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Paula Jones (Richard Starkweather) of Fenwick; sons, Paul (Terri) Copas of Sidney, Rodney (Laura) Copas of Greenville; sister Rosie (Aaron) Hubbard of Ithaca; grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Heather McCracken, Casey Jones, Sean Copas; six great grandchildren and a niece, Julie (Mark) Ellsworth of Sidney.

A longtime resident of the Sidney area, Jean loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her pets. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation with Jean’s family is being held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. In honoring Jean’s wishes, no formal funeral service will take place and she will be laid to rest in Sidney Cemetery.
