Janis M. Vogl, age 72 of Sheridan passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Jan was someone who valued and treasured her family and friends. When she was younger, she enjoyed traveling to see those friends and family and when her health no longer allowed her to travel, she maintained in contact with them through Facebook and their visits to her. She liked to sew and was a great cook and had a very big sweet tooth. Jan loved playing cards and dice, watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. However, most of all Jan loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandkids.
Surviving Jan is her husband of 51 years, Jerry Vogl of Sheridan; daughters, Janel Vogl of Rockford; Gina (Joel) Grubinski of Indian River; grandchildren, Parker Bennett; Jake Grubinski; Amber Betts; Kayla Grubinski; siblings, Larry (Linda) Allen of Langston; Gerry Finch (Gary Stanley) of Flint; Gordon (Diane) Allen of Langston and many nieces and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, George Jr. & Belva (Larsen) Allen.
A celebration of Jan’s life is being held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) from 5-7 PM with a time for everyone to share memories at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you direct memorial donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
