Janice K. Thomsen, 78, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Green Acres of Mount Pleasant.
Jan was born on January 7, 1942 in Crystal, the daughter of James and Inez (Ouderkirk) McCracken.
On October 2, 1963 in Crystal, she married the love of her life; Gerald Thomsen. Together they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family and being in each other’s company for almost 50 years, before his passing in 2013. Jan like to play the piano and loved music in general. She was the pianist for many years at the First Church of God in Crystal and always enjoyed playing the church hymns.
Jan is survived by her sister; Beth Nodus of Crystal, her brothers; William (Vicki) McCracken of Lansing, Phil McCracken of Crystal, Mark (Teri) McCracken of Newaygo sister-in-law; Barbara Parks of Ionia, two special nieces; Marnie (Dean) Roestel of Mount Pleasant, Jane Stockton of Vestaburg, along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal ceremony will be held.
