James Rule, age 63, of Carson City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Jim loved spending time and being with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He was a Master Electrician and liked to tinker with things. He really enjoyed researching genealogy and was very active on many local genealogical and historical Facebook groups where he was a constant contributor.
Jim is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Sara Rule (Larry Carter Jr.) of Greenville; sons, Joe Rule of Ionia; Matt Rule (Jessica Schafer) of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Samantha; Sawyer; Spenser; Ashton; and Olivia; brothers, John (Lisa) Rule of Sheridan; Jerry Rule of Crystal; best friend, Mike Johnston of Edmore; and a cousin, Julia Rule (Steve Lawrence) of Grand Rapids.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Ellen (Maxfield) Rule.
In honoring Jim’s wishes no formal funeral ceremony will be held and he will be laid to rest in Carson City Cemetery.
