James Parker

July 26, 1940 — April 9, 2021

James “Jim” Austin Parker, age 80, of Stanton, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born to Chauncey and Kathryn (West) Parker on July 26, 1940 and they precede him in death along with his sisters, Jackie Moomey and Josephine Turner, and his special friend, John Seaman.

Jim graduated from Crystal High School in 1959. He married Donna Louise (Armstrong) Parker on June 8, 1959. Before he retired from Electrolux, Jim worked as a construction worker, well driller, milkman, and butcher at Blanchard’s in Crystal. Jim was a very capable and talented man, with the skill set to do just about anything.

Jim loved to tinker in the garage, work on his tractors, and run beagles with his kids and grandchildren. He was the President of Cherryland and Stittsville beagle club in Fife Lake for many years. He was the perfect example of a family man and always loved when any of them visited. Jim was a man that many loved and he was known for his witty jokes and sense of humor. He was always the happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends and was always trying to make people laugh by sneaking in a quick joke.

Jim is survived by his wife; Donna; three wonderful children, David Parker of Stanton; Scott (Beth) Parker of Stanton; LaNette (Scott Edwards) Parker of Stanton; seven wonderful grandchildren, Derek (Heather) Parker of Lakeview; Elizabeth (Ben) Wickerham of Flushing; Alyssa (Jason) Howard of Blanchard; Chauncey (Maria) Parker of Stanton; Lesa Parker of Lakeview; Austin Edwards of Stanton; Haley Edwards of Stanton; 12 beautiful great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen Smith of Burnips; brother, Larry (Barb) Parker of Greenville; and special sister-in-law, Darlene Dufort of Elk Rapids.

A Celebration of Jim’s life is be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests you direct donations to either the Crystal Lake Community Church or Spectrum Health Hospice in Jim’s memory.
