James D. Kohn, age 77, of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 20, 2021.
Jim was a guy who liked horsepower, both figuratively and literally. He loved his horses and going for horseback rides and the horsepower from cars, as he enjoyed working on hotrods, racecars, going to the races, and racing cars himself at the local dirt tracks, first in the #6 car and then in car #24. Jim loved his family and spending time with them. He liked camping, shooting his guns, hunting and fishing, and just being outdoors. Jim will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving Jim is his wife, Amy; children, Jim (Christine) Kohn of Carson City, Jeff (Tiffany) Kohn of Sheridan, Jason (Sheri) Kohn of Colon, Alicia Kohn (Dan Potter) of Elmira; grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan, Brandon, Shelby, Cameron, Meghan, Mackenzie, Dillon; great grandchildren, Ryker, Gundyr, Adyson, Aria, and one soon to be born; sisters, Becky Kohn of Crystal and Sandy (Ted) Stover of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James & Carole (Argersinger) Kohn; sister, Robin Peiffer; brother, Terry Petersen.
A celebration of Jim’s life is being held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) on Saturday, September 25th, from 11 AM to 1 PM where you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.
