Jack Lamey

Jack Lamey, age 96 of Sheridan, passed away on January 29, 2016 in Brownsville, Texas. Jack was born on September 20, 1919 in North Star, Michigan to Thomas & Lydia (Shelhaus) Lamey.

Jack farmed with his brother and nephews on the home farm which was recently named a centennial farm. He was the floor manager at the Rainbow Gardens Roller Skating Rink in Crystal, Michigan for over 30 years.

On March 22, 1980 he married Gloria Morrison and moved to Holland Lake in Sheridan. Jack and Gloria traveled extensively, throughout the U.S.A. where they visited every state, Canada, and Mexico. They spent the last 35 winters in Brownsville, Texas. Jack enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing and traveling, but most of all he loved to dance the polka, waltz and square dancing with Gloria. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a wonderful Grandpa, all of his children loved “Grandpa Jack” and he always had time to play with them.

Jack is preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy Zeigler, parents, two sisters and five brothers.
He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Gloria; three daughters, Bonita (Harold) Zeigler, Pammie (Tom) Garrett, Tammy (Mike) Miller; one son, Dale Wayne (Kay) Morrison; grandchildren, Julie (Jason) Batchos, Aaron (Bonnie) Zeigler, Stephan (Melisa) Miller, Spencer Miller, Shane Miller, Gunther Garrett, Emily (Alex) Immekus, Rebecca (Richard) Stark, Duane Chapin; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Ethan, Brenna and Isaiah Batchos, Avery, Makenzie, Lily and Paige Zeigler, Lisa, Kecia and Stanton Chapin, Sean Stark.

A sister Jane Lamey, sisters-in-law, Joyce Wright, Dawn Powers, Wenda Duflo, a brother-in-law, Terry (Jean) Sillman, several nieces and nephews and many many friends in Michigan and Texas.

Jack will be greatly missed by all who loved him. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 2-4 PM at the Holland Lake Golf Course in Sheridan, Michigan (1100 Holland Lake Road, Sheridan, MI 48884)
