Irene Patrick (Flinn)
Irene Patrick, age 90, of Greenville formally of Stanton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Born on September 16, 1924 the daughter of Roscoe T. & A. Veda (Hobday) Flinn in Union City, Irene moved to the Stanton area, with her late husband Harold Zane Patrick in 1953. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Brown.
Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Smith & Carl Keene of Ft. Myers, Florida; her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce & Bea Patrick of Grayling; three grandchildren, Trisha & Ron Smith, Travis & Anastacia Patrick, Erin & Brian Garcia; great grandson, Connor Smith; her special brother-in-law, Dale Brown of Stanton and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was a longtime member of the Stanton First Congregational Church, where she was very active in Women’s Fellowship. She worked for many years in Zane’s State Farm Insurance office. Irene was very active volunteering in the community with various activities, especially Rotary and the Eastern Stars. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, she also enjoyed deer hunting and really liked baseball and college football. Irene was also an accomplished artist.
Visitation with Irene’s family is being held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4-6 PM at the Stanton First Congregational Church, located at 305 N. Camburn Street.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10 AM, also at the Stanton First Congregational Church with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Final interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton.
For people wanting to make a memorial donation in Irene’s memory, the family has suggested donations be made to either Spectrum Hospice or the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 47 and envelopes will be available at the church.
