Hunter J. Ferris, age 23, of Sheridan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 15, 2021.
Hunter loved to ride his motorcycle and would ride as often as he could. He liked to go fishing, especially cat fishing, hanging out with his brother, Mike, fixing and tinkering with things, and playing with his dog, Harper. However, the thing Hunter loved the most was spending time and playing with his son, Gannon. While Hunter’s time on earth was short, his legacy will be with everyone for a long time, and in Hunter’s words to his mom in a poem he wrote several years ago, “P.S. Mom, If I don’t make it tomorrow, I hope you remember me today…When the water gets deep, and it’s hard to swallow, I hope you miss me tomorrow. Love Hunter.” Hunter will be missed and remembered by everyone who knew and loved him.
Surviving Hunter is his mom, Terasa (Brent) Trebian of Ionia; dad, Mike Ferris Jr (Sheri Compo) of Ionia; son, Gannon Ferris of Sheridan; fiancé, Leslie Cole of Sheridan; daughter, Scarlett Groce of Sheridan; sister, Shannon (Steven) Lopez of Ionia; brother, Mike Ferris III (Demi Youngstrom) of Ionia; grandparents, Mike Sr. and Jackie Ferris of Lyons and Doug and Norrine Lane of Six Lakes; best friend, Brandon Bassi of Sidney; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
Hunter was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Beverly and Henry Carroll; grandpa, Larry Davis; and aunt, Terisa Broyles.
A celebration of Hunter’s life is being planned for a later date at Restore Church in Ionia (430 W. Main Street).
