Obituary for
Harold Fredrick Nisonger
Harold F. Nisonger, age 88, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Spectrum Health Blodgett campus.
Born the son of George & Margrete (Nichols) Nisonger, on August 27, 1926 in Vestaburg, George is proceeded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters and his wife Pauline whom he married on June 18, 1948.
Together Harold and Pauline raised six children all of whom survive him in death; Sherry Barnhart, Dennis & Vicki Miller, Terry & Rhonda Nisonger all of Greenville as well as Russell Nisonger of Sand Lake and Scott & Tracy Nisonger of Oolewah, Tennessee. Additionally, Harold is survived by eighteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, a few great great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Harold was an auto mechanic by trade and an adventurer by choice. He loved to travel and on one occasion left Michigan for Florida only to end up in California for the winter. While he could be stubborn and strong willed, he loved his family and was extremely dependable and hardworking, if it could be fixed, Harold was your guy. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Harold learned to water ski at the age of 45. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Harold are being held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phil Van Dop officiating. Final interment will be next to his wife at the Sheridan Cemetery.
For those wanting to make a donation in Harold’s memory, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Spectrum Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
