Harold Edwards, age 86 of Sheridan, passed away at his home on Friday, December 25, 2015.
Harold was born in Sheridan on September 16, 1929 the son of Jesse & Mabel (Lacy) Edwards and they have preceded him in death as well as eight brothers and three sisters.
Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen; daughters, Jane (Greg) Clem of Sheridan, Amy Stedman of Stanton; son, Randy Edwards of Sheridan; grandchildren, Nikki (Mark) Tober of Rochester Hills, Ashlee Clem of Sheridan, Jacob Stedman of Stanton; sisters, Elaine Edwards of Sheridan, Norma Bussell of Greenville; sister-in-law, Ellen Rule of Sheridan and a very close family friend, Gary Jenning of Hernando, Florida.
Harold was a member of the Sheridan Agricultural High School board and was instrumental in merging of the Sheridan and Stanton schools which today is known as Central Montcalm. He also served as school board President of Central Montcalm schools for many years. From his early childhood, Harold was a dairy farmer until his retirement in January of 1997, during this time he also owned and operated the Stanton Elevator. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation with Harold’s family will be on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Funeral services for Harold will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 beginning at 1 PM with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Harold will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Harold’s memory, the family has suggested donations be made to the Sheridan VFW Ladies Auxiliary and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
