Gordie Howe, age 70, of Stanton, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Gordie loved going to his cabin in Barryton. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, playing cards, and riding four wheelers. He proudly served his country during Vietnam as a member of the United States Army. Gordie retired from Electrolux after working there for 33 years. If anyone ever needed help you could always count on Gordie being right there to lend a hand. While he enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends, he especially loved being around his granddaughters, kids and his beloved wife, Barb.
Surviving Gordie is his wife of 44 years, Barb; daughter, Stacey (Josh) Williams of Stanton; son, Duane (Kamey) Howe of Greenville; granddaughters, Esha (Michael) MacDonald of Farmington Hills; Nikota Howe (Kaylon Davis) of Greenville; Katelynn Williams of Stanton; sisters, Betty Hadley of Wyoming; Kandy (Pat) Kelly of Ionia; Pat Pence of Foley, Alabama; April (Pete) Conway of Mecosta; Joyce (Rene) Perez of Six Lakes; Cindy Wireman of Belding; Carol Howe of Ionia; brother, Alan (Betty) Howe of Cullman, Alabama; brothers-in-law; Buck (Pam) Rush of Greenville; Ryan (Lorri) Rush of Sterling Heights; sister-in-law, Donna (Rich) Orwig of Sheridan; many nieces and nephews, and lots of great friends.
Gordie was preceded in death by his father and stepmom, Gordon & Ardith Howe; mother and stepdad, Jean (Daggett) & Ed Vanalstine; mother-in-law, Shirley Buskirk.
A celebration of Gordie’s life is being planned for a later date.
