Gerald Springsteen, age 79, of Fenwick, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville.
Some people knew Gerald as Jake, others by Jerry, but everyone called him a friend. Jerry worked for many years at Harvey Milling Company in Carson City and he helped to build and start the one in Sheridan. He was a lifelong farmer, drove semi trucks, and sold DeKalb seed corn for 31 years. In his younger years, Jerry liked traveling and taking trips, going hunting and fishing. He enjoyed joking around with his grandkids and will be dearly missed by everyone.
Surviving Jerry is his wife of 62 years, Neva; daughters, Pamela Anderson of Fenwick and Betsy (David) Lennemann of Ionia; son, Jake Springsteen of Sheridan; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Ewalt of Carson City, Alycia (Rick) Edwards of Sheridan, Christopher (Stacey) Springsteen of Fenwick, Sheena (Nathan) Ryan of Carson City, Hannah Lennemann of Ionia, and Megan Lennemann of Ionia; great grandchildren, Paige, Peyton, Karlie, Keith, Cady, Olivia, Claire, Cole, and Brodie; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Owen & Edna (Weber) Springsteen and his brother, Wayne Springsteen.
Jerry’s life is being celebrated on Tuesday, February 1st at the Open Door Fellowship in Carson City (121 S. William St.). Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 2 PM with funeral services starting at 2 PM with Pastor Larry Austin officiating. Final interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
