Genevieve Doris Kreeger, age 82 of Sheridan, passed away peacefully at the Laurels of Carson City under the loving care of her family.
Grandma Genny, as she liked to be called, loved spending time with family and friends. She welcomed everyone and anyone into her home and would always ask you when you left when would you be coming back to see her. She was the caregiver for many of her own grandchildren, as well as many of her friend’s kids, she also worked as a nurse for many years caring for newborn babies. Genevieve loved taking walks around the Village of Sheridan, decorating for every season and holiday, as well as knitting, and crocheting.
Surviving Genevieve is her daughter, Wilberta (Don) Wittkopp of Sidney; sons, Carl Kreeger (Shelly Wolfrom) of Sheridan; Earl (Kathlyne) Kreeger of White House, Tennessee; grandchildren, Blake Wittkopp of Stanton; Britney Wittkopp of Sidney; Wil Kreeger and Hank Kreeger both of Sheridan; Brianca Kreeger; Jaclyn Kreeger, and Danielle Kreeger all of White House, Tennessee; brother, Ken Workman of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, George & Nellie (Vander Mey) Workman; her husband, Marvis JC Kreeger and her sister, Madeline Hedgecock.
A celebration of Genevieve’s life is being held at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM. At 1 PM there will be a time for friends and family to share stories and memories with everyone.
Genevieve will be laid to rest next to her husband at Sheridan Cemetery.
For those wanting to make a memorial donation in Genevieve’s memory the family suggests you direct those donations to either New Beginnings or the Montcalm County Commission on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
