Gary K. Ross, age 69 of Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 27, 2014 at United Memorial Hospital, Greenville. He was born on August 13, 1944 in Fenwick, the son of Howard W. & Nellie Mae (Jeffrey) Ross. Both parents have preceded him in death as well as his mother-in-law, Lois Stearns and two brother-in-laws, Jerry & Ronnie Stearns.
On January 15, 1965 in Carson City, Gary married Judy K. Stearns and she survives in addition to their children, Kelly Ross of Greenville, Kim Ross Sanders of Big Rapids, Todd Ross and Scott Ross, both of Greenville, 3 grandchildren, Austin Thomas, Desiree Bitner, Ethan Sanders, his father-in-law, Bill Stearns of Sheridan, 2 sisters, Norma & Paul Bollinger of Carson City, Delores & Leonard Lund of Sheridan, 2 brothers, Harold & Phyllis Ross of Carson City and Michael & Kathy Ross of Ionia plus several nieces and nephews.
Gary has been a longtime resident of Greenville. He was a retired truck driver who has driven several different types transport rigs throughout his lifetime. His hobbies included collecting die cast trucks and tractors, watching NASCAR racing and the late Dale Earnhardt and Michigan Wolverines football. He was a giving person who loved helping others, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
Visitation at the funeral home will also be on Friday beginning at 10:00 AM; one hour prior to the funeral service.
