Gary L. McKinley, age 73 of Fenwick, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Sparrow Carson Hospital.
He was born the son of James & Roselina (Richmond) McKinley on April 9, 1945 and they along with one brother, Melvin McKinley precede him in death.
Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Claudia; daughter, Diana (Scott) Evans of Sheridan; sons, James McKinley of Greenville; Greg McKinley of Sheridan; Chris McKinley of Fenwick; grandchildren, Jessica (Rocky) Sowles of Greenville; Jeremy (Lameigh) Evans of Sheridan; Jason (Liz) Evans of Sheridan; Tyler McKinley of Lake Odessa; great grandchildren, Tyne, Natalie, Brantley and Ava; sisters, Jean Staines of Fenwick; Audrey (Larry) Mitchell of Kentucky; Beverly (Jim) LeLand of Orleans; Kae (Tim) Platts of Orleans; Nancy (Tim) Hopkins of Kentucky; brother, Pete McKinley of Garden City and sister-in-law, Dianne McKinley of Florida.
Gary was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served our country in Vietnam. He loved to hobby farm and enjoyed hunting and watching the wildlife out of the window of his house. He liked trying his luck at the casino and really enjoyed playing cards. His grandkids and great grandkids meant the world to him and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Visitation and funeral services for Gary will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan. Visitation will be from 4-5 PM with funeral services beginning at 5 PM. Military honor will be conducted by the Sheridan VFW Honor Guard.
