Fay Galloup

Fay Galloup, age 89, of Greenville, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Hospice.

Fay loved to make people laugh. He was still spinning a good yarn at the end of his 89 years. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Jean Cook, and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Driving in the car was one of his greatest joys; be it a road trip out west, north to the U.P., or south on their annual winter bird migration to Florida. Fay proudly served in the US Air Force and his fondness for planes evolved into flying hobby planes. He shared his enthusiasm for camping, hunting & fishing as well as motorcycling with his children, grandkids, and great grandchildren. Fay was a loving family man and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving Fay is his wife, Barbara Galloup; daughter, Deb (Mike) Pelton of Greenville; sons, Dan (Tina) Galloup of Birdseye, Indiana, and Dennis (Kim) Galloup of Fremont; grandchildren, Chris Pelton of Grand Rapids, Jeff (Regina) Pelton of Glenview, Illinois, Jeannette Pelton of Kentwood, Nick Galloup of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Tamber Galloup of Jasper, Indiana, and Jesse Galloup of Fremont; great grandchildren, Anthony, Kavan, Ethan, Easton, Anna, Andrew, Austin, Jennah, Iain, Braeden, and Devon; great-great granddaughter, Lilly; sisters-in-law, Ida Train, Dorothy Letts, Lelah Cook, and Sandy Cook; and brothers-in-law, Don Cook, Arthur Cook, Jr., and Gary Cook.

Fay was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Cecil (Greenhoe) Galloup; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur & Florence Cook; and brothers-in-law, Donald Train and James Letts.

Visitation for Fay is being held on Sunday, May 15 from 12 to 1 pm at the Simpson Family Funeral Homes in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.) with a Memorial Service following at 1 pm.
