Everett Joseph Golden, Jr., age 90 of Stanton, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Retiring from Ford Motor Company in 1980 after 30 years of service, Everett and his wife Mildred moved from the Dearborn area back to the Stanton community where they were originally from. Everett especially loved his pond and creek on his property and took great pride in maintaining and keeping it up. He really liked being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, Everett also liked growing vegetables in his large garden and was never afraid of hard work. He was very talented when it came to making and building things and he enjoyed both woodworking and leatherwork. Everett also proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Everett is his wife of 63 years, Mildred (Young) Golden; daughters, Brenda Golden of Lakeland, Florida; Carol (Mike) Kuhn of Livonia; son, Robert Golden of Rockford; grandchildren, Matthew Harnos of Atlanta, Georgia; Jessica Golden of Riverview, Florida; Joshua Golden of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, David (Delores) Golden of Bear Lake; Rolland (Jeanine) Golden of Rochester; sister-in-law, Viva Dyer of Houghton Lake; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Everett is preceded in death by his parents, Everett Joseph Sr. & Wilda Mae (Gates) Golden; sister, Mildred Latoski and brother, James Golden.
Funeral and visitation services for Everett will be on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar Street) with visitation from 11 AM -12 noon. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon. Final interment will be at McBride Cemetery.
