Ethel Goforth, age 78, of Riverdale, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant.
As a kid, Ethel attended the Church of Latter-day Saints and then as an adult she regularly attended Pine Grove Church in Stanton. She enjoyed cooking for potlucks and jamborees. She was a volunteer at the Baby Pantry and Community Closet in Stanton for many years. Ethel liked playing games, especially cards, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving Ethel is her daughter, Karemae Goforth of Hollister, Missouri; sons, Andy Goforth of Riverdale; Steven (Shelly) Goforth of Remus; grandchildren, Tara (Kevin) Petersen of Carthage, Missouri; Jacob Ordiway of Vestaburg; Andrew Michael Goforth of Chandler, Arizona; great grandson Oliver Petersen of Carthage, Missouri; sisters, Nancy (George) Dunivon of Mason; Mary Ann Gould of Flint; Bobbi Johnston of Edmore; Lola Beach of Stanton; Janice (Steven) Payne of Rialto, California; Paula (Doug) Collins of Mohave Valley, Arizona; special friends, Gayla Perkins; Sharon Frost; DeeDee Conley; Dave & Shaina McCormick; and many nieces and nephews.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Burt & Leda (Washburn) Wellman; brother Chuck Wellman, along with 3 additional infant brothers; sister, Jean Antcliff; brothers-in-law, Dale Johnston; Lowell Beach; Ken Gould.
A memorial service celebrating Ethel’s life is being held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Pine Grove Church (480 Pine Grove Road, Stanton) beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Bruce Anna officiating.
