Elmer "Gene" Studley

Elmer Eugene “Gene” Studley, 84 of rural Hubbardston passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Carson City Hospital. He was born on May 31, 1930 in Greenville, the son of James R. & Faye L. (Wright) Studley.
Gene was married to Patricia Crampton on April 17, 1987 and she has preceded him in death on September 10, 2013. Also preceding him were his parents, two brothers, James & Roland Studley and a sister, Myra DeWeese.
Surviving Gene are three children, Kathy & Marlon Strickler of Connellsville, PA, Roland & Teresa Studley of Hobart, IN, Kevin Studley of Hubbardston, three step children, Rona Bartholomew of Crystal, Amy Barnes-Endres of Mason, Patrick Barnes of Lansing, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a brother, Duane Studley of Holt and several nieces and nephews.
Gene was a longtime resident of the Vickeryville/Hubbardston areas and one who enjoyed being outdoors. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean era and a member of the American Legion in Carson City.
A memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Final interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
In keeping with Gene’s wishes, there will not be any visitation held as cremation has already taken place.
