Ellen Kay Roberts

Ellen K. Roberts, age 72, of Traverse City, passed away at her home on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Ellen was a vibrant, adventurous soul, who was unafraid of blazing her own trail. She enjoyed being outdoors, kayaking with her “Ladies of the Lake” group, bicycling with her “She Bikes” group; camping, searching for beach glass, and hiking various waterfalls. Never one to pass up a yard sale, she loved searching for a great find. Ellen was a gifted and talented artist, she enjoyed documenting her life and that of her families with her camera, rug hooking, needlepoint, and doll making. Most importantly, Ellen’s favorite thing was spending time with her family, particularly her grandkids; showing them all that Michigan had to offer through her imagination and humor.

Surviving Ellen is her significant other, Mark Ratajczak of Traverse City; daughters, Shannon (James) Kilduff of Sidney; Martha (Chris) Galea of West Branch; grandchildren, Kelly Patmore; Emma Patmore; Lily Kilduff; Nora Kilduff; Jacob Kilduff; Taylor (Eli) Engebretson; Nick (Lauren) Tibbetts; Aria Galea; sisters, Lu (Tim) Wood of Lansing; Claudia Ray of Carson City; Sheila (Bob) Miles of Ithaca; brothers, Dennis (Sherrie) Roberts of Carson City; Pat Roberts of Riverdale; Scott Roberts of Shephard; Mark Roberts of Carson City; Darren Roberts of Lowell; many nieces and nephews; and lots of great friends.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh & MaryBell (Troub) Roberts; son, Chad Neumann; and niece, Chloe Roberts.

Ellen’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Carson City Fellowship Center (10204 E. Carson City Road). Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM, with her memorial service beginning at 11 AM.
