Elizabeth Ann Troyer, age 91 of Stanton, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Greenville, under the loving care of her family.
A wonderful cook, loving mother and awesome grandma, Elizabeth leaves behind a lifetime of memories which will be cherished and treasured by all who knew her. Before moving to Florida to escape and avoid the cold Michigan winters, which she absolutely detested, she was a long-time resident of the Three Oaks, Michigan area. No matter where she lived, Elizabeth would always attend the local Catholic church as her faith was an important part of her life. Elizabeth enjoyed spending her summers at her cottage at Halfmoon Lake and hosting family dinners. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
Surviving Elizabeth are sons, Bill (Darlene) Simpson of Stanton, Roger (Debbie) Simpson of Manchester, step daughters, Vicky (Doug) Roberts of Portage, Diane (Paul) DeGroot of Belding, grandchildren, Kellie (Chris) Schnell, Christopher Simpson, Bill (Kim) Simpson, Andrea (Jeff) Sprague, David (Renae) Simpson, Jamie (Derek) Halvorsen, Mary Ann (Mike) Hoffmann, great grandchildren, Caleb, Makena, Alyssa, Brendan, Conner, Elijah, Ian, Emma, Allison, Myra, Molly, Cole, Aubrey, Skyler, Brooklyn, Kaylie, Jacob, Kyle, Ryan, Lauren and Wayne, brother, Joseph (Elaine) Campbell of Michigan City, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Walter & Mary (Rickert) Campbell, husband, Richard Troyer, sister, Mary Louise Hass, brothers, George and John Campbell and a grandson Doug Roberts.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at 2 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main Street). Visitation will be held two hours prior, from 12 noon to 2 PM. Final interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Three Oaks.
For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Elizabeth’s memory the family suggests you direct those donations to either the Central Montcalm Community Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
