Dorothy Zandt

Dorothy L. Van Zandt, age 89, of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Green Acres in Greenville. She was born on December 30, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph & Rose (Karel) Dlouhy.
Surviving Dorothy is her daughter and son-in-law, Dedra & Ronald Springsteen of Sheridan and their children, Joseph & Maren Springsteen of Cupertino, California and Jennifer Springsteen of Garner, N. Carolina.
Formerly of Chicago, Dorothy has been a resident of Sheridan since 2009. She is a member of the First Congregational Church of Sheridan. While residing in the Chicago area, she worked as an executive secretary for Rockwell International and volunteered at the Morton Arboretum of Cook County, Illinois and also at McNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois. Her favorite pastimes were playing golf, gardening and spending time with her family.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church in Sheridan on Tuesday, August 28th, beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Phil VanDop officiating.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, there will not be any visitation held as cremation has already taken place.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the First Congregational Church in Sheridan and there will be envelopes available at the church.
