Dorothy Louise Gurecki

Dorothy L. Gurecki, age 91, of Stanton, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Hathaway Hills in Greenville.

Dorothy worked for many years a secretary at Montcalm Community College, Montcalm County Intermediate School District, Central Montcalm High School, and she also worked for Dr. Seely. Dorothy also loved to spend her winters in Florida, where she and her late husband, Leo, had many friends. She really enjoyed golfing at Holland Lake and was a member of the Stanton First Congregational Church. However, what Dorothy loved the most was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving Dorothy is her daughter, Barb (Jack) Helms of Highlandville, Iowa; son, John (Ginger) Gurecki of Stanton; grandchildren, Todd (Grace) Helms of Powell, Wyoming, Scott (Teesha) Helms of Decorah, Iowa, Michael (Elizabeth) Gurecki of Williamston, Betsy (Mike) LeVand of Stanton; 8 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Grace Smith of Stanton and Marguerite Riley of Stanton.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Margaret (Poumade) Wilson; her husband, Leo; and brother, George Wilson.

 A celebration of Dorothy's life is being held on Thursday, December 22nd from 4 to 6 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.).
