Obituary for Dorothy Corner

Dorothy Irene Corner, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 9th at the Laurels of Carson City.
Dorothy was born in Bessemer, Michigan on February 7, 1934, the daughter of Harold & Vivian (Young) Pitchford. They precede her in death in addition to one daughter, Marcia Griswold; one granddaughter, Kaleigh Griswold and three brothers, Charles, Bernard and Raymond.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherry & Dennis Mann of Sheridan; two sons, Ron Griswold of Edmore and Bryan & Debra Griswold of Six Lakes; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was a long time resident of the Sheridan area and an avid quilter. Dorothy’s entire family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of Laurels of Carson City for the wonderful care their mom received over the past few years.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at 11:00 AM at the Simpson Family Funeral home in Sheridan with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior beginning at 10 AM. Final interment will be at the North Eagle Cemetery in Eagle, Michigan.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Dorothy was one of the nicest, kindest ladies I have ever met. I worked with her at Goodwill for almost 2yrs. She had lots of friends and will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I never got a chance to come over to carson to see her and i truly regret it. She was a fantastic lady and i know will be missed. I worked with her for a few years. I am Proud to know that she walks with Jesus now.
