Dorothy Bliss

Dorothy J. Bliss, age 79 of Ithaca passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Sheridan Community Hospital. She was born on June 22, 1934 in Sheridan, the daughter of Lawrence & Pearl (Dunlap) Frisbey. Both parents have preceded her in death.
On June 20, 1953, Dorothy was married to Eldon K. Bliss and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2008. Also preceding her was a son, Timothy Bliss on February 1, 1992 one sister and one brother.
Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Gail & Michael Painter of Ithaca, 3 grandchildren, Michelle & Daniel Martyn of Ithaca, Michael & Amy Painter II of Riverdale, Farrah & Jacob Gladding of Elm Hall, 7 great grandchildren, three sisters, Donna Schermerhorn of Stanton, Janet & Max Bliss of Sheridan and Doris & Russell Hevel of Cadillac plus several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy has been a longtime resident of Ithaca and was a member of the E. Washington United Brethren Church of Ashley.
Funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan.
Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 AM; one hour prior to the funeral service.
