Doris Marie Pearson

Doris M. Pearson, age 80, of Fenwick, passed away at her home on Friday, February 24, 2023, under the loving care of her family and Corewell Hospice.

Doris served as the director of the Belding Housing Commission for 12 years. She was also a life member of the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed tending to her garden, knitting, crocheting, painting with watercolors, pyrography, and trying her luck with lotto tickets. However, the thing Doris loved the most was staying in touch with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving Doris are her children, Liane Palmateer of Fenwick and Scott Palmateer of Fenwick; stepchildren, Donnalee Tuthill of Belding, Mike (Carolyn) Sower of Arvin, Texas, Doug (Norma) Sower of Gowen, and Jerry Jr. (Susan) Pearson of Utah. Grandchildren, Ken Palmateer of Fenwick, Mikayla Mathewson of Belding, Chris (Brittany) Jones of Dorr; several step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Zoey, Ella, Everett, Edie, Alek, and Ava; and many step great grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Pearson; daughter, Kristen Sower-Mathewson; grandsons, Derek Sower, Kirk Sower, and Mitchell Fitzgerald; daughter-in-law, Laura Palmateer; and her parents, Frank & Nora (Smith) Ash.

In honoring Doris's wishes, no formal funeral ceremony will be held and she will be laid to rest at Clear Lake Cemetery.
