Doris A. Doty, age 85, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, March 25th at Metron of Greenville. She was born on October 22, 1925 in Lapeer County, the daughter of Herman & Ona (Morse) Weidenhammer.
On January 22, 1946, Doris was married to James E. Doty. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1995 in addition to being preceded by 7 sisters and brothers.
Surviving are her children, Denise & Dale Bohn of Sheridan, Roxanne Doty of Aurora, Illinois, Ann & Terry Powell of Montrose, Michigan, Edward & Chris Doty of Woodridge, Illinois and Brian Doty of Dover, Delaware, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 brothers, John & Marty Weidenhammer of Lewiston, Michigan, Dale & Diane Weidenhammer of Burton, Michigan, Ellis & Lillian Weidenhammer of AuGres, Michigan, Delbert Weidenhammer of Montrose, Michigan, Marshall Weidenhammer of Lewiston, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
Doris has been a longtime resident of Greenville and was a member of the Fenwick United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and she will be missed dearly by all of them.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Pastor Larry Nalett officiating. Interment will be at the Sheridan Cemetery.
Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 A.M., one hour prior to the funeral service.
