Donald J. Draper, age 77 of Fenwick passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 30, 1937 in North Shade Township, Gratiot County, the son of Donald J. & Rosetta (Patton) Draper. Both parents have preceded him in death.
On June 6, 1959, Don was married to Barbara Humphrey and she survives in addition to two daughters, Kim Draper of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kenna & Ron Green of Ionia, three grandchildren, Rebekah, Caleb & Adam, one brother, Pat & Debbie Draper of Sheridan, two sisters in law, Arlene & Bob Bauman of Clare, Phoebe Mosier of Amsden, a brother in law, Gary & Linda Johnston of Lake Havasu City, Arizona plus several nieces and nephews.
Don has been a lifelong farmer and resident of the Fenwick area. He was a member of the Farm Bureau; he served on the Montcalm County Board of Review for Bushnell Township, attended Shiloh Community Church and was a retired member of the US Army National Guard. Don loved the outdoors and whether he was hunting, fishing, camping or just walking in the woods, he was avid about nature.
Funeral services beginning at 12 noon will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Following cremation, final interment will be at the Ferris Center Cemetery.
Visitation will also be at the church on Friday beginning at 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the funeral service where the family will meet with friends and relatives.
For those desiring to do so, the family has suggested memorial considerations can be made to the Shiloh Community Church. There will be envelopes available at the church.
