Dennis L Cooper

November 2, 1956 — April 3, 2017

Dennis Lee Cooper 60 of Ionia passed away Monday April 3, 2017 at Carson City Hospital.

He was born on November 2, 1956 in Ionia, the son of Calvin & Charlotte (Rodgers) Cooper and they both precede him in death.

Dennis attended Saranac Public Schools, enjoyed fishing, camping and riding motorcycle. In earlier years, he had worked as a concrete finisher. Dennis was also a big U of M fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his sons; Dennis Cooper, Jr. of Saranac, Devin (Erin) Cooper of Clarksville, TN, Darren Cooper of Stanton; grandchildren, Skyler, Jadalynn, Jaxon, Tayler; his brothers and sisters, Calvin Cooper Jr. of TN, Cherly Cooper, Willie Cooper, Earl Cooper, Joyce (Greg) Dean all of Ionia and close friends; Rochelle Mason, Brian Rusnell, Doug and Steve.

A celebration of life luncheon is being held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Sheridan VFW Post (lower level) from Noon to 3:00 pm. Immediately following the luncheon, everyone is invited to join the family in a celebration of life motorcycle ride in honor of Dennis, with kickstands up at 3 PM. Line up will be in the Simpson Family Funeral Home parking lot, which is directly in front of the Sheridan VFW.
