Obituary for Deane Arthur Gage

Dean A. Gage, age 82 of Stanton, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his home in Stanton with his family by his side.

The son of Dale & Fern (Hunt) Gage, Dean was born in Perrinton, Michigan on January 4, 1933. Both of Dean’s parents have proceeded him in death.

Dean is survived by his wife Jane; three daughters, Karen & Claude Tift of Newaygo, Lita & Tom Thornburg and Kim & Andy Sova both of Lakeview; five grandchildren, Ryan & Jenny Miller and Rachelle & Steve Laurence both of Greenville, Reese & Tanabeth Miller of Stanton, Michael & Jessica Sova of Gladwin, Laura & Ryan Knox of Rockford; eight Great-Grandchildren; one sister, Shirley & Clarence Hodges of Albion; two brother-in-laws, John & Marybeth Hansen of Stanton, Phil Kahl of Ionia and many special friends.

Dean was a people person who loved life. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with all of his friends. He loved going to garage sales and auctions. In his later years, Dean loved to put jigsaw puzzles together and frame them. Dean loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

One of Dean’s favorite things was to talk and reminisce with friends and family over a cup of coffee and doughnuts. To help Dean’s family celebrate his life and honor his memory, they will be having coffee and doughnuts at the First Congregational Church in Stanton on Tuesday, June 9th beginning at 4:00 PM and would very much appreciate you stopping by and sharing a memory or story with them.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking the memorial donations be made to either the First Congregational Church in Stanton or Heartland Hospice and envelopes will be available at the church.
